Holder coins and creator coins

The difference between holder and creator coins, and exactly how each venue splits the fees.

The difference

  • Holder coin. Most of the trading fees go to the coin's holders, as rewards.
  • Creator coin. Part of the trading fees go to the coin's creator. Holders get no rewards.

A coin's mode is set at launch and never changes.

pump.fun coins

pump.fun charges its own fee on every trade, plus a creator fee. pump.fun's fee stays with pump.fun. The creator fee is locked to WeBall at launch and can't be changed after. WeBall claims it and currently uses it like this:

Of every claimed creator feeShare
The coin's holders70%
WeBall12%
WeBall AI3%
Buy and burn $BALL10%
Whoever referred the creator, or $BALL liquidity if there's none5%
  • A partner referrer gets 7.5% instead of 5%. The extra 2.5 points come out of WeBall's share, so WeBall keeps 9.5% on those coins.
  • There are no creator fees on new pump.fun coins.
  • Older pump.fun coins keep the split they launched with.

Meteora coins

Meteora takes 20% of every trading fee. WeBall claims the other 80%. The split below is of that claimed 80%.

Fee rates

  • Holder coins: you pick 1%, 2% or 3%.
  • Creator coins: fixed at 1%.

WeBall's share

WeBall's share is currently used like this:

Of WeBall's shareShare
Buy and burn $BALL20%
WeBall AI credits10%
Running the platform70%

If the creator was referred, the referrer gets 10% of WeBall's share on that coin's trades. It comes out of WeBall's part only.

How creators are paid

  • Your share is sent to you automatically, in SOL or the paired token.
  • It's sent once it reaches 0.02 SOL, or after a day, whichever comes first.
  • It's paid during the curve and after graduation, whether or not the coin graduates.
  • You never claim anything.
  • At launch you can split your share across up to 5 wallets, in whole percentages adding to 100.

In holder mode, creators earn nothing from fees

Your stake is your own coins, such as a first buy.

Not financial advice. Memecoins can go to zero.
